Covid-19 Safety Plan Fall 2020
Important:
Please read and sign Delta Youth Theatre’s Informed Consent form before the start of classes.
A student will not be allowed into the class/rehearsal space until this has been signed and
completed by a parent/guardian.
Before arriving, please:

Use a washroom and wash hands thoroughly.

Fill your water bottle.
-
Bring a mask for use during singing (we will have some in case the student forget).
Arrival and Check-In:
-
Please arrive 5 minutes before class.

Parents will need to wait outside.
-
Please line up outside following the marked spaces and staying socially distanced.

Students will have access to hand sanitizer before entering the class/rehearsal space.

Students will need to fill in the Covid-19 checklist regarding his/her/their symptoms (on that particular day) before entering the rehearsal space. We will be handing out 9 Covid-19 checklist forms on the first day of class. In order to prioritize teaching time and minimize entry/exit time, we ask that you fill the form out before arrival (except on the first day we will have you fill out upon arrival). We will also be attaching this checklist to an email you will receive in case you misplace the checklist and need to print from home. The completed forms will be kept on file.

Students will follow instructions to their socially distanced “spots” in the room.

Please bring a bag large enough to put all your belongings inside including any extra clothing (ie. sweatshirts, jackets, shoes) and water bottles. Students will need to keep all belongings in one bag. This bag will accompany them into the class/rehearsal space.
During Class/Rehearsal:

Instructors and clinicians will wear masks for the duration of the rehearsal and/or workshop.

During singing and in vocal warm-ups/scene/monologue work (where students are projecting), students will be required to wear masks. Students can choose to wear masks for the entire class/masterclass at their discretion. Mask wearing will be mandated by the teacher/clinician whenever necessary.
Departure:
-
Students must leave rehearsal promptly.

The class/rehearsal space will be sanitized appropriately after each class/rehearsal.

Students must not congregate in groups at the exit. Please stay socially distanced at all times.
IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT ALL TEACHERS, STAFF AND FAMILIES FOLLOW THESE 4 PRACTICES:
1) STAY HOME IF YOU ARE SICK. The most important measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19 is to stay home if you are sick.

Stay at home if you show any symptoms of respiratory illness consistent with cold, influenza, or COVID-19, even if symptoms are mild, you must remain at home.

If a teacher or student begins to feel unwell at class/rehearsal, they will be asked to go home.

If someone in your home tests positive for Covid-19 please wait for 14 days of quarantine before returning to class/rehearsal.

If you travel internationally you will have to wait a duration of 14 days before returning to class/rehearsal.
2) WASH YOUR HANDS. Good personal hygiene helps reduce the risk of infection.

Please wash your hands with soap and water before leaving home/school.

There will be hand sanitizer at the front door. Instructors will give you dollop to use upon entry/exit.
-
If you need to cough/sneeze please do so in to your elbow.

Avoid touching your face.
3) KEEP YOUR DISTANCE. Prevent transmission by creating space between people. Stay two meters apart.

There will be physical distancing markers outside to be used before entering.

Students will be directed to spots in order to remain socially distanced.

Teachers will conduct entrance and exit into classrooms.

Parents are asked to remain outside the building. Please drop off and pick up your student outside the class/rehearsal entrance.

Students are asked to use the washroom at home prior to coming to class. If you absolutely need to use the washroom we ask that you wipe down high touch surfaces after use. Please use wipes provided.

Please wash hands thoroughly. Signage will be posted as a reminder of good hand washing practice.
4) KEEP SURFACES CLEAN AND CLEAN SURFACES OFTEN. Regular disinfection of high touch areas reduces the risk of transmission from contaminated surfaces.

We will be cleaning high touch areas on a regular basis.

Teachers will sanitize high touch areas between classes.
-
Students will not be able to use shared equipment unless sanitized.

We ask students to refrain from cell phone usage once inside the class/rehearsal area (except in case of emergencies). If cell phones are needed to video/record, hand sanitizer will be mandatory after usage.

Students are not permitted to bring food or beverage inside the class/rehearsal area.

Students may bring a water bottle, but it must be filled at home.
Any parent concerns, questions, and communication will be addressed via email or telephone.

Frozen jr.
Frozen JR. is based on the 2018 Broadway musical, and brings Elsa, Anna, and the magical land of Arendelle to life, onstage. The show features all of the memorable songs from the animated film, with music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, plus five new songs written for the Broadway production.
