Delta Youth Theatre is proud to present a pre-professional youth theatre program. The program is designed for an ensemble of dedicated students who want to learn from professionals and to have fun in a focused and safe environment.  Students will rehearse and perform a musical that requires strong singer-actor skills.  They will be encouraged to discover their own unique talents and how these can be translated into a dynamic stage performance.

LOCATION: 

Delta Youth Theatre is a Canadian theatre company that operates in the heart of Delta (Ladner, BC) .

Rehearsals are located at the All Saints Anglican Ladner Church  and shows are performed at the newly renovated Genesis Theatre.

PROCESS: 

• Students will audition and be cast in a role specific to the production chosen that year.   

• Students will receive scripts, accompaniment tracks and cast t-shirts. 

• Students will rehearse once (or twice a week depending on the role) and will learn skills and theatre etiquette throughout the process. 

• Students can expect to memorize music, blocking, dialogue, choreography and can also expect to engage in drama, projection, singing, improv and team building activities. 

• Students will work with guest teachers. 

• Students will learn about marketing for theatre and will be provided with posters, tickets and other marketing materials and ideas in order to attract an audience. 

PRODUCT: 

• Students will perform in a Broadway junior production with full production value and costumes.   

• Shows will either be performed at the Genesis Theatre in Ladner. 

• Students will perform anywhere from 3-6 shows depending on their roles and/or ensemble track.
